MTSI Excels at Aviation Cyber Initiative (ACI) Cyber Rodeo

The Aviation Cyber Initiative (ACI) is a government-led, tri-chair organization (DOD-FAA-DHS) dedicated to fostering collaboration and innovation in aviation cybersecurity. Throughout the year, ACI hosts multiple events, known as “Rodeos,” at various vendor and stakeholder locations to advance cybersecurity in the aviation sector.

MTSI’s Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) team participated in the ACI Cyber Rodeo at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on February 5-6. On the first day, MTSI showcased its Cyber Physical Systems capabilities at the tabletop exhibit hall, engaging with industry leaders and stakeholders. The second day featured a high-stakes Capture the Flag (CTF) competition, where participants tackled complex aviation cybersecurity challenges. These included scenarios such as landing a plane and directing air traffic control (ATC) operations while under cyber attack.

The competition drew 44 teams and approximately 130 participants, including 18 industry-only teams. After seven hours of intense competition, MTSI’s team secured an impressive 3rd place overall and claimed 1st place among all industry teams.

MTSI’s outstanding performance highlights its expertise and commitment to advancing aviation cybersecurity.
