Can you tell us about your start and career with MTSI?
I have held several roles throughout my nearly 4 years with MTSI. I arrived in September 2018 after graduating from Miami University of Ohio. I began my MTSI career as the Dayton Office Manager and Proposal Specialist, then became a Deputy Program Manager, assisting with a portfolio of projects before transitioning to my current position as NOVASTAR Security lead (while still continuing with project work).
In addition to my Security and PM responsibilities, I coordinate and plan many of the social events for MTSI Dayton, taking advantage of the wide variety of Dayton attractions, including the annual company Dayton Dragons game, anniversary, and holiday parties at stunning local venues (like the newly renovated Dayton Arcade), and the upcoming company picnic at Young’s Jersey Dairy.
What does MTSI being 100% employee-owned mean to you?
I know that company decisions are being made based on what’s best for our employees and their interests and not because of stock value or profit.
MTSI’s Women’s Leadership and Networking Forum. (WNLF). Can you describe this organization and what it means to you?
WLNF is a group within MTSI that provides opportunities for women to interact, collaborate, and share resources. It’s been a vehicle to connect with other women professionals at the Dayton site via virtual events, breakfasts, and conferences. The WLNF Conference in Las Vegas last fall stands out to me because I was able to network with MTSI women from the company’s different locations.
As a Dayton local, what is your top restaurant recommendation for anyone visiting?
My favorite Dayton restaurant is El Meson. Get the Jalapeno Margarita with sugar on the rim!
