Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is an entirely employee-owned engineering services and technology solutions firm with multiple locations around the country, including one in Tucson. The company provides technical expertise to U.S. military entities including the Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Command Test Center, Air Force Flight Test Center and the Army’s Aviation and Missile Research Development, among many others. MTSI delivers lasting contributions to the nation’s missile defense, cyber security, intelligence, unmanned and autonomous systems, aviation, space-based projects and homeland security.
In Tucson, MTSI focuses on testing and evaluation of complex weapons systems, aircraft, sensors and payloads.
“Our main focus in support of our customer at the Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Test Center is developing, integrating and testing new technologies to incorporate in Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve aircraft and systems such as F-16s, F-15s, A-10s, HH-60Gs, MQ-9s, KC-135s, C-130s and Battlefield Airmen,” said Vance Drenkhahn, a senior engineer and director of the Warfighter Capabilities Business Unit in Tucson.
“We do our best to make our warfighters more lethal and more survivable in support of national objectives,” explained Kirk “Krokus” Johnson, Fighter Sensors program manager at MTSI’s Tucson location. MTSI has 33 employees in Arizona.
Worldwide, MTSI has more than 1,000 employees and generates more than $190 million in annual sales. The company operates seven strategically located regional offices and 10 additional field offices across the United States. The company is known for its adeptness and agility at managing complex, multi-discipline engineering projects.
