MTSI/WSC Wins 1st Place at ICS Village CTF at DEFCON

MTSI’s Tech Fellow, Jon “McFly” McEllroy, and his Weapon Systems Cyber (WSC) team won first place during DEFCON32 in the Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Village Capture the Flag (CTF) event out of 75 teams!

The ICS Village CTF offers hands-on experiences with industrial control systems, which bridge technology with physics. Attendees engaged with Industry experts while solving challenges like a red vs blue manufacturing network process coupled with OT-specific jeopardy-style challenges. The contest highlighted vulnerabilities in industrial equipment and OT protocols. By stimulating attacks on critical infrastructure, participants developed and practiced DEF CON-level skills, enhancing their understanding of critical infrastructure and the world we rely on.
